I made it! 30 years. Over half of which I’ve spent in service of music. And here I am loving every(ish) moment. My twenties were a time of exponential personal growth and life changing moments. I can’t help but feel like I finally know who I am and what I want. I also can’t shake the feeling that I’ll laugh at that sentence when I’m forty.
Today I’ve got a handful of albums I’d love to share including a massive compilation of the grooviest tunes. Also! Sig Wilder & Friends have a brand new single out this Friday via Home Alone Records. Subscribers get an early listening experience below.
Why subscribe though? Subscribing supports the band; the songs we release, the shows we put on, the music we share. It also immensely helps my craft and the music ecosystem I live in. Big thanks to everyone who has contributed.
Okay so. I can’t quite find the words to explain how grateful I am to everyone who came out to our fundraiser show last month. With your help we were able to cover a large portion of the manufacturing costs involved in recording and releasing a full length album. There are always more costs (at this stage mostly just covering marketing and touring) and if you would like to contribute you can! How?

order a t-shirt! yes, I will ship internationally.
Hit that lil message button if you want to order a t-shirt. S, M, L, and XL still available. I’ll throw in some free stickers as well :))
The album is officially slated to be released on August 1st via Home Alone Records. I’ll likely do a more “formal” announcement at some point, but hey, now you know.
Big thanks to Barney Johnson & band and Lee Stuart for supporting the fundraiser show with their musical talents.
Okay, listen to these albums.
Sinister Grift by Panda Bear
Beach Boy harmonies smooth into lush electronic palettes. Rounded out perfectly with a collaboration with one of my new favorite artists, Cindy Lee. Cindy Lee’s new album features in my favorite albums of 2024.
When all you want to do is be the fire part of fire by UTO
Who gave these aliens acoustic guitars? This album is a gorgeous tapestry of in-your-face vocals, wobbly synths dripping with bleeps and bloops, and creaky acoustic instruments. It makes for fantastic late night typing music. On track 7 I must’ve been at over 60 words per minute.
SABLE, fABLE by Bon Iver
I’ve loved this man and his music for a long time. I recommend watching/listening to this live take of Wolves for Blogotheque.
Bad Cameo by James Blake and Lil Yachty
This beautiful album is not on bandcamp. However we do own it on vinyl which means that I only listen when I’m at home. I could listen on a streaming service while out and about but I haven’t. I wonder if it would take away from the sense of place (space?) this album has created. I don’t dare find out.
Bump & Hustle Music from Moochin’ About
It’s 84 songs! Jazz, Soul, Funk, Latin-Jazz rarities & masterpieces... This mega compilation has been a great companion to my frantic budgeting. Spreadsheets and jazz!!
Below is for paid subscribers to have an early listen of our new single, Slow Time. Woah sooo exclusive! Join us :))
I’m the man who can’t decide
heaven or the countryside
his holy halls of cumulus
her ozark hills of permanence
fallen trees don’t have to rush
broken bones don’t gather dust
slow time slow time
If I said the words sipped the wine
read the recipe online
could I dine amongst the prophetess?
could I make a life - a new romance?
sit tight in the county seat
or travel up the high concrete?
if the hourglass defines our lives
let me simmer let me caramelize
so much less time until sundown
or let me dive in every ocean
glassy waves stitched and woven
lunar white or rhinestone blue
I’m going now, toodle oo
what about the house to mend
and paving way to the wild west
if our poster child is the setting sun
Make my smile an illegal one
I gotta hold the door
gotta greet the storm
gonna grip tight to the paracord
wanna solo dive in-to the night
Tomorrow’s songbird’ll canonize, hunny
Fallen trees don’t have to rush
Broken bones don’t gather dust
Slow time
who’ll slow it down?
who’ll make my heart beat easy?
who can turn life around
do I chalk it up to leaving?
the sky is burning bright
it’s a light on in the kitchen
what are you cooking up tonight?
am I choosing between the seasons?
who can slow it down
who can make my heart rush easy?
who can turn life around
the storm has got me leaning
i remember the sound
of voices to the ceiling
i could feel he was all around
but a feeling ain’t the reason
so much less time until sundown
