Hey ma, pa, friends and fam.
I recorded an album! so now I am knee deep in editing and making moves to finalize the tracks (honestly one of my favorite parts of the process). A few months ago I spent four days living the dream in the studio with Philip Zach (The Grid) and Zech was there working away in his nook :) Cowboy songs were a flowin’ !!! I’ve made a soundcloud page for my new project (Sig Wilder) in which you can have a listen to one of the demos - more to come!
Here are some details about the new album:
It’s called Cowboy Practice
It’s about a man called Sig Wilder
The writing process has taken about 4 years and the recording process was 4 days. And I’m hoping you’ll start to see finished songs in the next 4-6 months. I intend to release a single or two or ten. I’ll make a website and some socials (reluctantly). For now the best way to keep up is right here on this newsletter.
I would like to share some albums. These albums play really well as complete works. If you can, listen from start to finish. If you have less time I’ve included a few of my favorite tracks.
BONNY LIGHT HORSEMAN by Bonny Light Horseman
This album plays well; on a weekend trip out of the city (even better if you stay in a cabin), at dusk around a fire in the cool spring air, with candles lit in a steamy bubble bath.
My highlights1
2. Deep In Love
3. The Roving
7. Lowlands
DRAGON NEW WARM MOUNTAIN I BELIEVE IN YOU by Big Thief
From indie rock’s finest band. It doesn’t get much better than this. This album plays well; on vinyl, driving from A to B at max volume, with candles lit in a steamy bubble bath. Here are a few of my faves, but honestly this entire album is gold.
1. Change
8. Heavy Bend
11. Red Moon
15. Promise is a Pendulum
17. Simulation Swarm
Intimate and unique. This album plays well; with a bottle of Syrah, crunched up in your finest pair of headphones, with candles lit in a steamy bubble bath.
My highlights2:
4. Warm Chris
6. Passion Babe
10. Leathery Whip
Support these artists by purchasing on bandcamp or directly from their sites.
That’s all for now.
